
Women’s Basketball Hosting Summer Camps at Mott

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly women's basketball program is hosting several camps this summer, offering boys and girls middle and high school ages the chance to learn from top Division I coaches.
Head coach Shanele Stires, a former WNBA player and standout at Kansas State, as well as her staff of assistants who have decades of experience as both coaches and players will be leading the camps which will take place at Mott Athletics Center on the campus of Cal Poly.
There are two different types of camps kids can attend. The first is the Cal Poly Summer Night School Skills Clinic – which is for boys and girls entering grades 6-12 and geared towards skill development and give prospects insight into what it means to be part of the Cal Poly program. There are six individual sessions for this camp – July 27 & 28, August 2, 4, 8 & 10. Each session goes from 6:30-8pm except for July 27 which goes from 7:30-9pm. The other camp is the Cal Poly Elite Camp which is for high school girls entering grades 9-12 who are looking to play basketball in college. Each session includes competitive skills training, live games, a campus tour, a Cal Poly basketball presentation, and a t-shirt. There are two sessions for this camp – Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6 with each session going from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. The price is $99 per session or $175 for both sessions.
