SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Three members of the Cal Poly wrestling program were named to the Pac-12 Conference's Winter All-Academic Honor Roll.
Senior Brawley Lamer, redshirt freshman Jack Lenox and redshirt sophomore Trae Vasquez were honored for their work in the classroom.
Any student-athlete on their respective team roster with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or above, and who has served at least one year in residence at the institution, is eligible for the distinction.
Lamer won nine matches this past winter, all at 157 pounds. The Corvallis, Oregon, native earned a pair of falls and one of his decision was against No. 29 Robert Kanniard of Rutgers in the Matmen Open en route to a fifth-place finish.
Lamer is one of four Cal Poly wrestlers who graduated over the weekend. The others were 165-pounder Evan Wick, 285-pounder Samuel Aguilar and 174-pounder Dylan Miracle.
Lenox won two matches in the Michigan State Invitational, including a fall in 3 minutes, 22 seconds, while Vasquez earned a 4-1 decision against Mitchel Christensen of Central Michigan at the season-opening Michigan State Open.
All three Mustang wrestlers earned Honor Roll spots a year ago as well.
Lamer and Vasquez both are kinesiology majors while Lenox majors in biomedical engineering.
