SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Powered by three individual victories from freshman Courtney Cross and two from senior Kaia Anderson (pictured above), the Cal Poly women's swimming and diving team downed Pepperdine 153.5-145.5 in a dual meet Saturday at the Anderson Aquatic Center.
Overall, the Mustangs won 10 of the 16 events. Cal Poly's talent on the women's side was on full display against the Waves.
"There were some great races," head coach Phil Yoshida said. "Head-to-head battles and close finishes are always exciting. The ladies showed up to compete and fought for the win. It was a fantastic all-around team victory. So many people contributed with not just wins. Our depth showed up and made the win a reality."
Cross continued the stellar start to her collegiate career, winning the 100-yard freestyle (54.19), 200 free (1:55.91) and 500 free (5:14.37).
