Medina Earns Lone Win for Cal Poly in Extra Countables vs. CSUB

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- CSU Bakersfield won three of the four extra countable wrestling matches held Wednesday afternoon inside the Mustangs' practice room in the Recreation Center on campus.
Cal Poly 141-pounder Josh Medina earned an 8-6 decision over Jose Landin.
Medina scored two takedowns in the first period for a 4-2 lead, added another takedown for a 6-4 advantage in the second period and notched two escapes in the final period for the win.
Roadrunner 197-pounder Josh Loomer won two matches, one via major decision, and Jarrod Snyder earned an overtime 3-1 victory at 285.
The two teams did not get a chance to wrestle in a full dual meet this season due to COVID-19 issues within the Roadrunners program.
Cal Poly will compete in the Pac-12 Championships on Sunday at Oregon State.
