Cal Poly Softball Releases 50-Game Schedule for 2022

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Six weeks out from the program's Friday, Feb. 11 season-opening doubleheader, the Cal Poly softball team released its 50-game, 2022 regular season schedule on Thursday afternoon.
Comprising four non-conference tournaments – including the return of the program's Mustang Classic (March 12-13) – two mid-week doubleheaders and nine Big West Conference series, Cal Poly's schedule also includes 10 games against 2021 NCAA Tournament qualifiers.

Cal Poly begins its 2022 schedule with five games at the Feb. 10-13 San Diego State Season Kickoff. After opening the tournament on Feb. 11 against Boise State and Middle Tennessee, Cal Poly faces defending Horizon League champion UIC (Feb. 12) and 2021 NCAA Tournament Fayetteville Regional runner-up Stanford (Feb. 13).
Following a five-game run at the San Jose State-Santa Clara Tournament (Feb. 25-27), Cal Poly opens the Cal State Fullerton-hosted Judi Garman Classic (March 3-6) on Thursday, March 3 against defending Pac-12 Conference champion and 2021 Women's College World Series qualifier UCLA. Cal Poly then faces 2021 NCAA Tournament participant Arizona State on Friday, March 4 before concluding Garman Classic play on Saturday, Feb. 5 against first-time opponent Penn and defending Mountain West titlist Fresno State.
The Mustangs next host Penn on Wednesday, March 9, opening a 20-game home schedule at Bob Janssen Field with a 3 p.m. doubleheader. After twice facing Pacific and Nevada at the program's own Mustang Classic, Cal Poly opens its 25th season of Big West play with a three-game series at CSUN (March 19-20).
The second of Cal Poly's two six-game homestands opens against UC Riverside (March 26-27) and closes versus UC Santa Barbara (April 2-3). After visiting Hawai'i (April 8-9) for the first time since 2018 and CSU Bakersfield (April 15-16) for the first time as a Big West opponent, Cal Poly welcomes Fresno State for a Tuesday, April 19, non-conference doubleheader.
Cal Poly hosts defending Big West champion Long Beach State (April 23-24) and visits 2021 Big West runner-up Cal State Fullerton (April 30-May 1) before completing its home schedule versus UC Davis (May 6-7).
The Mustangs close the regular season with their first trip to UC San Diego since Feb. 13, 1994, visiting the Tritons for a three-game, May 13-14 series.
