
San Diego State Women’s Swimming & Diving Edges Cal Poly Saturday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Competing in its first meet since October, the Cal Poly women's swimming and diving program fell to visiting San Diego State on Saturday 169-109.
The meet marked the first time this season that Cal Poly has hosted an opponent at Anderson Aquatics Center. Their last meet was a 'virtual' one against BYU on October 31.
Junior San Luis Obispo native Adelynn Peterson had a second place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.18. She also placed third in the 500 free with a time of 5:35.38.
Sophomore Erin Kim had two second place finishes on the day. The first was in the 100 free with a time of 54.84 and her other came in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.13.
Other second place finishes in swimming on the day for Cal Poly came from senior Sascha Keir in the 200 back with a time of 2:11.04, senior Avery Newman in the 200 breast with a time of 2:26.11, senior Stephanie Backlund in the 500 free with a time of 5:20.70, sophomore Kaia Anderson in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.19, and sophomore Sophie Jackson in the 50 free with a time of 25.26.
In diving, the Mustangs were led on the day by junior Joelle Weltner, who finished second in both the 1 meter and 3 meter dives. In the 1 meter she had a score of 215.85 while in the 3 meter she had a score of 247.50.
Junior Molly Wilson meanwhile placed third in both the 1 meter and 3 meter dives. She finished the 1 meter with a score of 204.75 and the 3 meter with 215.33.
