
Lehman Finishes 12th in 2019 Big West Conference Men's Golf Finals

LIHUE, Kauai, Hawaii – Senior Thomas Lehman earned a 12th-place finish, highlighting Cal Poly's performance in the 2019 Big West Conference men's golf championship at the Wailua Golf Club on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
After carding a 73 and 71 on Monday, Lehman posted a 78 Tuesday with a six-over-par 222 total and slipped eight places on the final leaderboard.
Lehman (pictured at right) was the lone Mustang to finish in the top 20.
Will Draper fell from 18th to 37th with a final-round 83 while Tanner Podres moved up three spots with a 75. Also scoring for Cal Poly were Cade Casaga with an 82 for 42nd place and Dominick Hoover with a 74 for 44th place.
Matt Wilson of Cal State Fullerton claimed medalist honors by four strokes, recording a 75 and a pair of 68s for a five-under-par 211 total. Thomas Hutchison of UC Davis was second (70-74-71—215) and Zach Smith of UC Santa Barbara finished third at even par (68-74-74—216).
Wilson led the Titans to the team title. Cal State Fullerton posted a blistering four-under-par four-person 284 total Tuesday and leaped three spots to first place with a 12-over-par 876 aggregate.
Second-round leader UC Irvine fell to second place at 884 and UC Davis was third at 886. Long Beach State, second after 36 holes of play, fell to a sixth-place tie with CSUN and Cal Poly finished ninth at 916.
Lehman finished tied for first in par-4 scoring at one over par.
