Lehman Finishes 24th in Olympic Club Intercollegiate

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Senior Thomas Lehman finished 24th in the Olympic Club Intercollegiate on Tuesday at The Olympic Club, carding a final-round 74 for a seven-over-par 220 total.
Lehman, who carded a 72 and 74 on Monday, improved his position by four spots in the final round on the 6,891-yard, par-71 Lake Course.
Sam Meek of Nevada claimed top individual honors with a final-round 70 and a 209 total, overtaking second-round leader Derek Castillo of Cal State Fullerton. Castillo posted a final-round 76 and finished in a tie for second place with Matthew McCarty of Sant Clara at three under par, one shot behind Meek.
Nevada edged past Cal State Fullerton for the team title as well, 849-850. They were the only two teams to finish under par at minus 3 and minus 2, respectively. Santa Clara placed third while Cal Poly finished 13th with a 64-over-par 916 aggregate.
In addition to Lehman, Cal Poly's other scoring golfers were Tanner Podres in 53rd place with a final-round 78 for a 229 total, Sage Casaga with a 79 for a 233 total and 60th place, Cade Casaga with a 79 for a 234 total and 66th place, and Will Draper with an 82 for a 243 total and 69th place.
Cal Poly returns to action March 25-26 with the Cal Poly Match Play Championship at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande.
