SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host its first regular season dual meet of the 2019-20 season Saturday when the Mustangs welcome in UC Santa Barbara for the first Blue-Green rivalry meet of the season.
The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. from Anderson Aquatics Center. Admission is free to everyone.
Last season, the Cal Poly men's swimming and diving team beat the Gauchos for the first time since 2015. On Feb. 2, 2019, the men's team beat UCSB 151-142 in San Luis Obispo. Overall last season, the Mustangs men's team split the season series with the Gauchos while UCSB won both duals on the women's side.
So far this season, Cal Poly has only competed in an exhibition with Cal, its Green & Gold meet, and its Alumni meet. In the King and Queen of the Pool Pentathlon with Cal, freshman Brian Wong won King of the Pool for the Mustangs while senior Amelia Feick won Queen of the Pool.
Following its dual meet against UCSB, the diving team will be in action Nov. 8-10 at the USC Diving Invitational while the swimmers will next compete Nov. 22-24 at the Pepperdine Winter Invitational.
