
Cal Poly Edged by CSU Bakersfield on Friday, 3-2

PISMO BEACH, Calif. – Despite wins from two pair teams on Friday, the Cal Poly beach volleyball dropped its first home match of the season to CSU Bakersfield, 3-2 at the Pismo Beach Volleyball Courts.
Cal Poly's No. 3 pairing of sophomore Raeann Greisen (pictured) and freshman Katherine Brouker collected a straight set, 21-11, 21-8 decision over CSUB's Kortney Freeland and Amanda Schoene, while junior Shannon Fouts and freshman Dora Beilin defeated CSUB's Ally Barber and Kayla Tinker from the fifth position, 21-6 and 21-13.
CSU Bakersfield, however, collected wins from the first, second and fourth positions on Friday to secure the match victory.
Cal Poly (6-10 overall) wraps up its regular season on Saturday with a pair of matches scheduled in Pismo Beach. The Mustangs battle Gavilan College at 9 a.m. PDT and Santa Barbara City College at 1 p.m.
