SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Cal Poly sand volleyball team split its matches on the opening day of the Sacramento State Tournament on Saturday afternoon, defeating Boise State and falling to San Francisco by identical 3-2 scores. The Mustangs earned their first victory of the season during the opening match of play, led by the freshman duo of Raeann Greisen and Taylor Nelson's victory Maddy O'Donnell and Hannah Hubbard in straight-sets (22-20, 21-15) at No. 1.
For Greisen and Nelson, the win was long overdue – six of their first seven matches of the season resulted in a third set.
