
Cal Poly Finishes Sixth in Sacramento State Invitational

\SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Jimmy Castles and Justin De Los Santos carded 72s and finished in the top 20 on the final day of competition in the Sacramento State Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Valley Hi Golf Course.
Despite the pair of even-par scores, the Cal Poly men's golf team slipped two spots into sixth place among the 16 teams competing in the two-day, 54-hole event.
Castles finished with a three-over-par 219 total and a 10th-place tie while De Los Santos (pictured above) compiled a 221 total and 19th-place finish.
Johnny Castles checked in with a final-round 79 for a 226 total and 41st place while Jesse Yap posted a 75 for a 232 total and 67th place. Nick Engelhardt recorded a 78 for a 233 total and 70th place.
Cal Poly posted a final-round four-person 297 total for a three-round 889 aggregate. Sacramento State won its own tournament with a 10-under-par 854 total, followed by Pacific at 867 and Seattle at 882.
Individual champion was Luke Kristo of Sacramento State with a final-round 66 for an eight-under-par 208 total, two strokes ahead of Pacific's Byron Meth.
