LOS ANGELES — Lauren Pierce from Cal Poly advanced to the 1-meter championship rounds of the Bruin Diving Invitational on Sunday at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center.
To start the competition, the freshman from Laguna Niguel compiled a prelims score of 222.85 — which ranks as the program's fourth-best performance since the current six-dive format was implemented prior to the start of the 2000-01 season.
Pierce then added a 218.25 in the afternoon for a 441.10 total, finishing in 17th place overall.
Meanwhile on the men's side, Mustang freshman Brady Shutt posted a ninth-place aggregate of 433.75 (211.55; 222.2) on the 3-meter board.
On Monday, Pierce was 31st from the platform, at 160.95, while Shutt posted a combined 282.90 (for seventh).
