
Cal Poly Opens Trojan Diving Invitational

LOS ANGELES — Cal Poly opened the Trojan Diving Invitational on Friday afternoon at USC's Uytengsu Aquatics Center.
Brady Shutt, a freshman, was fifth in the men's 1-meter competition, compiling a six-dive final score of 223.15.
Meanwhile on the women's 3-m board, Lauren Pierce, also a Mustang freshman (shown at right), was eight spots back of advancing to her finals, finishing 20th in a prelims field of 30 by posting a 223.70.
Diving among the eight teams in attendance will continue at 11 a.m. Saturday with a reversal from the first day's events, followed by finals beginning at 2:15.
