SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal Poly wrapped up the 2012-13 dual wrestling meet season Sunday with a 41-6 loss to No. 12 Central Michigan inside the Mott Athletics Center.
Cal Poly's only points came courtesy of a Central Michigan forfeit at 197 pounds -- J.T. Goodwin (pictured at right) accepting the six team points.
The Mustangs forfeited matches at 133, 141 and 285 pounds and Central Michigan won the remaining six bouts – four by decision, one by technical fall and one by pin.
The fall was recorded by Donnie Corby at 149 pounds in 2 minutes, 16 seconds, while Ben Bennett won the 184-pound bout by an 18-2 technical fall.
Closest decision was at 157 pounds where Luke Smith edged Kyle Chene 4-3. Chene scored a takedown in the third period to tie the match at 3-3 but Smith had enough riding time for the decisive point.
Central Michigan defeated CSU Bakersfield 26-12 later Sunday in the Mott Athletics Center.
