
Cal Poly Settles For a 1-1 Tie

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- The Cal Poly women's soccer team settled for a tie 1-1 against the University of Nevada Friday night. The Mustangs went into the match undefeated, Nevada's record was 1-1.
The first shot on goal came from Nevada but was saved by freshman goalkeeper, Alyssa Giannetti. By the end of double overtime, Giannetti would make a total of nine saves.
Kacey Held scored the first goal of the game 26 minutes into the game off a corner kick from Jess Duller.
After the half and in just five minutes, they took four shots, three on goal but Giannetti made all three saves. But at the 78 minute mark, Nevada's Chrisalyn Fonte scored off an assist from Lindsey Salcido.
Kacey Held and Sara Epps each made two shots on goal, but were not able to make it past Dana Moreno into the net.
Cal Poly stays on the road for a match against Sacramento State Sunday afternoon.
