COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Cal Poly secured a pair of falls, but Air Force won seven of the remaining eight bouts en route to a 30-15 non-conference dual wrestling meet victory over the Mustangs on Saturday.
After the Falcons won the first two bouts by major decision, Mustang 141-pounder Boris Novachkov pinned Carter McElhany in 2 minutes, 12 seconds, his fourth fall of the season. Novachkov is now 23-2 on the year.
Air Force won the next three bouts, one by technical fall and two more by major decision, to build a 21-6 advantage before Cal Poly 174-pounder Ryan DesRoches rallied from a 6-5 deficit with a takedown and riding time for an 8-6 decision against Clayton Gable.
DesRoches now sports a 21-1 mark.
