During his coverage of Ryan Stafford, the Mustang catcher became the first Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year finalist in program history. Tsitakis Cecil led the charge for Cal Poly’s media coverage of Brooks Lee and Drew Thorpe in their 2023-24 MLB debuts and also prepared, provided, and promoted draft day media packages for the MLB Network and 2024 MLB Draft picks Jakob Wright (4th Round, Dodgers), Ryan Stafford (5th Round, Orioles), Steven Brooks (11th Round, Red Sox), and Jake Steels (18th Round, Braves).
He first stepped into the sports career field as a contracted statistician for Genius Sports, covering the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors during his time with the company. After a five-month stint as a Sports Information Assistant covering multiple sports, Tsitakis Cecil was hired into a full-time role as a Communications and Public Affairs Specialist in March 2023 to work in an expanded role for the external relations side of Cal State Bakersfield Athletics.
