SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- Cal Poly Women's soccer dropped its match to Oregon State in a 3-1 loss Sunday afternoon.
The game was a physical battle on the field with the Beavers taking the early lead. Meagan Miller scored in the 12th minute after a rebound off Cal Poly goalie, Alyssa Giannetti. Oregon State would score again in the 18th minute when Jacy Drobney took a shot from 30 yards out off a throw-in from Justyne Freud. The final goal for Oregon State would come in the 30th minute when Jenna Richardson scored off a cross from Justyne Freud.
Cal Poly would get their chance and score in the 81st minute. Elise Krieghoff scored in front of the net off a great assist from Sara Lancaster. Cal Poly players would receive two yellow cards in the match against Braelyn Fetsch and Cristina Farrington.
Cal Poly will next hit the road for two games. They face BYU on Sept. 13 and Fresno State on Sept. 23. The next home game will be the Mustang's first conference game of the season against Pacific on Sept. 28.
