Lisa Downey joins the Cal Poly Wrestling staff after graduating from the University of Minnesota. While a Gopher, Lisa worked with the wrestling team and coaches on marketing and operations. She also worked a variety of sporting events as a social media intern with Gopher Sport Communications, and managed the J Robinson Intensive Wrestling Camp.
Lisa also held a position with the Minnesota Twins prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, where she was the event execution and operations intern. This position also allowed her to engage in social media platforms on behalf of the origination and work with clients and contractors related to events.
“We are excited to have our first director of ops for our wrestling program,” said head coach Jon Sioredas. “Lisa will bring experience in both logistics and promotion to assist our team, and she understands wrestling at a high level. We are very excited to work with her this year.”
