2024 — Appeared in nine games, all in relief, as a true freshman on the mound … no decisions and a 7.00 ERA with nine strikeouts over nine innings … issued just three walks … allowed seven extra-base hits, all doubles … longest stint on the mound was two innings against San Diego State … notched pair of strikeouts in each of his first three trips to the mound versus Missouri, Texas and UNLV … pitched for Kelowna Falcons in West Coast League summer play … pitched in six games with five starts, finishing with no decisions, a 2.42 ERA and 22 strikeouts over 22 1/3 innings.
High School — As a senior under head coach Dan Hydash at Redwood High School in Visalia, Bueno earned first-team All-East Yosemite League honors as a pitcher and outfielder, leading his team to a second straight league title and to the semifinals in the CIF-Central Section Division I playoffs … hit over .350 with 35 runs scored, 22 RBIs, five stolen bases, four doubles and a pair of home runs … also was 4-0 on the mound and recorded 50 strikeouts over 33 innings … as a junior in 2022, Bueno struck out 60 batters over 33 innings and compiled a 3.39 ERA … earned second-team All-West Yosemite League honors … also played football at Redwood, catching 10 passes for 200 yards and one touchdown and making five tackles in six games as a senior in 2023 … missed second half of schedule due to a fractured collarbone … participated in the 2921 and 2022 Area Code Games in San Diego and played in the 2015 Cal Ripken 10-Year-Old World Series, earning a spot on the all-defensive team at shortstop … chose Cal Poly because it has “the best facilities on the West Coast, a fantastic group of coaches, great location, and because Cal Poly produces very good ball players.
