High School — A .409 hitter as a senior under head coach Art Hunsdorfer at Salinas High School … nine doubles, one triple, three home runs and 24 RBI, striking out just twice in 103 plate appearances … stole 10 bases … on the mound compiled 6-4 record and 1.85 ERA with 76 strikeouts in 64 1/3 innings … MVP of Monterey County and earned first-team All-Monterey Trail Athletic League honors for the second time … second-team all-state medium schools accolades from Max Preps … pitched a two-hitter and hit a home run against Monterey … struck out 15 against Elk Grove … Salinas was 14-14 overall and qualified for the CIF-Central Coast Section Division I playoffs … hit .333 as a junior with six doubles, one triple and nine RBI with 13 steals en route to first-team All-Monterey County honors … also played football for the Cowboys as a slot back and wide receiver … helped Salinas to 6-5 mark in 2015 and 8-5 record in 2014, reaching the CIF-Central Coast Section Division I championship game … made 21 catches as a junior.
