2019 -- As a sophomore, made 11 appearances on the mound, all in relief ... one win and a 6.75 ERA, striking out six over 14 2/3 innings ... pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings versus CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 26 for win, allowing one hit with season-high three strikeouts ... also pitched two scoreless innings against Columbia on March 10 ... did not allow an earned run in first four appearances on the mound ... did not play summer ball.
2018 -- In first season as a Mustang, compiled 1-1 record with a 3.66 ERA ... 23 relief appearances on the mound and one start versus CSU Bakersfield on April 3 (two scoreless innings) ... struck out 20 batters over 32 innings ... earned victory against UC Davis on April 13 by securing five outs, thrtee of them strikeouts ... picked up the save April 20 against Long Beach State by striking out the final two batters of the game ... played summer ball for Mankato Moondogs of Northwoods League, posting 1-0 record and 6.96 ERA ... 11 appearances on the mound, all in relief ... 12 strikeouts over 10 1/3 innings.
High School -- A three-year varsity letter winner under head coach Jeremy Hendrickson at Apple Valley High School ... was 2-6 with a 2.37 ERA in eight starts during South Suburban Conference play as a senior ... struck out 44 batters over 41 1/3 innings ... pitched four hitless innings for a win against Shakopee and five scoreless frames for his other win against Farmington ... was named Apple Valley High School pitcher of the year, earned all-conference honors and was selected to play in Minnesota state high school all-star game ... as a junior, Arens struck out 20 batters over 24 innings and compiled a 3.70 ERA en route to second-team all-section honors ... 29th-ranked baseball player in Minnesota's 2017 high school class, according to Prep Baseball Report, and was a team captain ... earned Perfect Game underclass honorable mention All-American in the summer of 2016, was named to the Perfect Game all-tournament team and played on the 2016 WWBA 17-and-under team which claimed the national championship ... also recruited by Illinois-Chicago, North Dakota State, Minnesota State-Mankato, Butler and Purdue, Arens chose to attend Cal Poly because it "was the perfect fit for what I was looking for in a college.
