2014: After four midweek starts, Calomeni became Cal Poly's Saturday starter as a true freshman ... compiled 8-2 record and 3.68 ERA with 66 strikeouts and just 18 walks in 73 1/3 innings ... was the winning pitcher in each of his first five collegiate starts, compiling a 1.95 ERA ... in first college start pitched five scoreless innings at Santa Clara with nine strikeouts ... two weeks later blanked Santa Clara over six innings with six strikeouts ... also struck out nine in 6 1/3 innings against Northern Illinois ... allowed one run and four hits in five innings for win vs. Saint Mary’s, one run and seven hits with seven strikeouts in 9-1 win at Bakersfield and pitched six scoreless innings for win against UC?Irvine ... 15 appearances on the mound, all starts ... combined on three shutouts ... earned team's Scott Kidd Rookie Award ... played summer ball for Corvallis Knights in West Coast League ... earned pair of wins in WCL playoffs and finished regular season with 1-3 mark and 4.33 ERA ... struck out 37 in 45 2/3 innings.
