High School: Compiled 5-1 record and 1.05 ERA as a senior under head coach Teg Diffey at Shadow Hills High School in Bermuda Dunes ... struck out 81 batters in 40 innings ... also posted impressive batting statistics, hitting .562 with 19 RBI, one home run and struck out just once in 58 plate appearances ...
