2025 — Earned first-team All-Big West honors for the second straight year by hitting .351 with 16 doubles, six home runs and 54 RBIs … struck out just 16 times in 295 plate appearances, ninth in the nation in toughest to strike out, and also finished 13th in the nation with his 92 hits, fourth in Cal Poly’s Division I history and overall … landed on American Baseball Coaches Association All-West Region Second Team … one of three Mustangs to start all 62 games — 61 at third base and one at shortstop … led the Big West in hits (92) and at-bats (262) … led the team with 32 multiple-hit games (23 two-hit contests and nine three-hit games) and was third in multiple-RBI contests with 12 … produced 20-game hitting streak from March 15 through April 19 (36-for-87, .414 average), snapped by UC Santa Barbara … also had a 16-game hitting streak from April 27 through May 24 (31-for-72, .431 average), giving him hits in 38 of 40 contests … hit .339 against southpaws and .355 versus right-handers … hit .412 with runners in scoring position, was successful advancing runners 61.4 percent of the time and was successful driving in a runner from third and less than two outs 21 times in 31 attempts … also hit .425 in home games and .427 in night contests … named team’s Ozzie Smith MVP Award winner … played in the Cape Cod League with the Orleans Firebirds, hitting .298 with three doubles, a home run and 16 RBIs in 33 games … stole a pair of bases in five attempts.
2024 — Played in 56 games, including 52 starts, as a true freshman en route to Big West Freshman Field Player of the Year and first-team All-Big West awards … 49 starts at third base and three at second base … a .346 hitter with 71 hits, including 11 doubles, and drove in 28 runs … struck out just 10 times in 235 plate appearances, best in the Big West and No. 2 in NCAA Division I … produced 10-game hitting streak early in season after going 4-for-18 (.222) in first nine games of Mustang career … In last 43 games of season went 65-for-179 (.363), adding 126 points to his early-season average … 20 multiple-hit games, including five with three hits and a pair of four-hit contests … earned team’s Scott Kidd Rookie of the Year award … four multiple-RBI contests … hit .382 against right-handers, reached base safely 20 times in 45 opportunities as a leadoff hitter (.444), was 4-for-6 with the bases loaded, hit .355 in Big West games and led the team with a .402 batting average in day games and a .388 mark on the road … played summer ball for Portland Pickles in West Coast League … hit .297 in nine games … his 11 hits included a double and he knocked in seven runs … singled twice with three RBIs against Bend on July 12 and singled twice and doubled once for two RBIs versus Springfield on July 9.
High School — Under head coach and father Mike Garza, the 2019 BVarsity All-Area Baseball Coach of the Year, at Highland High School in Bakersfield, Garza hit .457 in 74 career varsity games with a .507 on-base percentage, 118 hits and 62 RBIs … as a senior hit .383 with 10 doubles, four triples and 15 RBIs in 29 games en route to first-team Southeast Yosemite League honors and a spot on the All-CIF-Central Section Fantastic 50 All-Star Team … hit a robust .510 in 2022 with 53 hits in 29 games, including 10 doubles, seven triples, five home runs and 30 RBIs with 17 steals … on the mound was 3-2 with a 1.96 ERA and two saves, striking out 41 batters over 46 1/3 innings in 15 appearances … Scots were 19-9-1 overall in 2023, winning the Southeast Yosemite League championship and qualifying for the CIF-Central Section Division 3 playoffs … Garza was named Southeast Yosemite League player of the year and landed on the BVarsity All-Area first team .. also was team MVP … as a sophomore in 2021, hit .483 with 29 hits (eight doubles, three triples) and 17 RBIs in 16 games with six stolen bases … chose to further his athletic and academic careers at Cal Poly because of its “great baseball program, great coaches and great campus.” … played for Portland Pickles in West Coast League in summer of 2024, hitting .323 with three doubles, five RBIs and three steals.
