2016 -- Opened his sophomore season as the Sunday starter and moved into the Saturday slot during Big West play ... compiled 5-3 record with six no-decisions and 3.68 ERA with 70 strikeouts over 93 innings ... two complete-game victories against UCLA and Sacramento State ... career-high nine strikeouts against San Jose State on April 3 ... complete games were a 6-2 victory over UCLA?on Feb. 28 with two runs, six hits and six strikeouts, and 4-0 shutout over Sacramento State on March 19 with five hits, one walk and six strikeouts ... earned save May 17 at CSU?Bakersfield ... struck out eight against Wichita State and seven against Grand Canyon ... Big West Pitcher of the Week after his shutout at Sacramento State ... played summer ball in the Cape Cod League for Yarmouth-Dennis, posting 2-1 mark and 4.87 ERA with 24 strikeouts over 24 innings.
2015 -- Appeared in 16 games on the mound, including one start against UC Santa Barbara on April 19 ... compiled 0-1 record and 7.08 ERA ... one save, tossing 3 1/3 scoreless innings against Hawai'i on April 12 and allowing three singles with three strikeouts ... also struck out three in 3 1/3 innings against Pepperdine on March 31 ... 17 strikeouts over 20 1/3 innings and did not allow a home run ... played summer ball for Eau Claire Express in Northwoods League, posting 4-1 record and 2.33 ERA with 34 strikeouts over 34 1/3 innings ... tossed seven scoreless innings for win against Rochester with one walk and nine strikeouts.
High School – As a pitcher and outfielder under head coach Blair Neagle, Uelmen produced exceptional senior-year numbers and led Faith Lutheran of Las Vegas to a 29-5 record, a Sunset League title and the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Division I-A championship in 2014 … on the mound was 9-1 with a 1.19 ERA, striking out 89 batters in 58 2/3 innings … struck out 13 in complete-game 7-1 win over San Fernando … at the plate hit .510 with 17 doubles, six triples, three home runs and 47 RBI … earned first-team all-state honors as a utility player and also was most valuable player of the Sunset League and All-South Region Division I-A … Uelman compiled a 4-3 record and 2.22 ERA as a junior under head coach Tony Girod in 2013 … struck out 76 batters in 53 2/3 innings … also hit .421 with 13 doubles and a pair of triples, driving in 23 runs, to help Faith Lutheran to a 28-9-1 overall record, first place in the Sunset League with a perfect 11-0 record and the Nevada state Division I-A championship … earned second-team All-Southeast League honors … made the school’s Honor Roll with a 4.0 grade-point average … participated in Young Life … played summer ball for the North County Indians and earned six saves with a 0.60 ERA, striking out 20 batters in 15 innings … chose Cal Poly because of its “academics and the baseball program.”
