Matt Myrphy, a third-year Agricultural and Environmental Plant Sciences (AEPS) major at Cal Poly, is in his first season as a student manager of the Cal Poly baseball team.
"I thought this would be a fun job to have," Murphy said.
A graduate of Linden High School in Linden, Calif., northeast of Stockton, Murphy announced several baseball games and also was a member of the boys' golf team.
His father Joe is a graduate of Pacific, his mother Paula attended San Joaquin Delta College and Murphy has one sister, Chico.
