Mason Platt, in his first season as a student manager for the Cal Poly baseball team, is a third-year Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration (RPTA) major with a concentration in sport management.

Platt wanted to become a baseball student manager "to get some tangible work experience for my future career."

Platt attended Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs, Calif. He played baseball and basketball prior to high school and was a member of the golf team at Ponderosa High School.

Mason's parents are Dennis (Chico State) and Debbie (Cal Poly), and he has one sister, Kelsey, who is a Cal Poly graduate currently attending medical school at UC San Diego.
