High School -- Watkins is a 2018 graduate of St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School in Watsonville, where under head coach Kenny Nakagawa, he compiled a 6-3 record and 1.83 ERA with 85 strikeouts over 56 2/3 innings ... led Sharks to 20-8 overall record, a second-place finish in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League and a runner-up finish in the CIF-Central Coast Section Division III playoffs ... struck out 13 batters in the semifinals against Palma ...
