2014: A second-team All-Big West Conference designated hitter after hitting .279 with 12 doubles, two triples, four home runs and driving in 41 runs ... 11 sacrifice flies was most in the Big West and No. 2 in the nation ... after offseason Tommy John surgery, Mundell opened sophomore season going 5-for-9 against Kansas State and 5-for-10 against UCLA ... was hitting .455 through first seven game before cooling off ... hit one home run in each game of UCLA series ... 19 multiple-hit games, including four-hit game at Cal State Northridge, and 10 multiple-RBI contests ... 12-game hitting streak (18-for-43, .419) snapped by Cal State Fullerton ... 5-for-10 in UC Santa Barbara series ... hit .362 against left-handers, .358 as a leadoff hitter and was successful advancing runners 53 percent of the time ... ... played summer ball for the Eau Claire Express in Northwoods League, hitting .297 with four doubles, one triple, nine home runs and 33 RBI ... went 37-for-108 (.343) over final month of regular season with six home runs and 17 RBI.
2013: Opened his collegiate career by starting 55 of Cal Poly's 59 games as a true freshman, all as designated hitter ... hit .265 with six doubles, two triples (UC Davis and Pepperdine) and 11 home runs en route to Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American honors as selected by Collegiate Baseball ... went 3-for-12 with a home run and four RBI at Los Angeles Regional hosted by UCLA, landing on all-regional team ... hit solo home run in first inning to spark Cal Poly to regional-opening 9-2 victory over San Diego at Jackie Robinson Stadium ... also contributed a sacrifice fly and two-run single ... the homer set a new Cal Poly Division I record for round-trippers by a freshman ... his first seven homers of the season were in 10-game stretch from March 8-24 ... 42 RBI for the year, including four in first game of doubleheader at Kansas State with a three-run home run and a solo shot ... High School: As a senior catcher and first baseman under head coach Jared Snyder at Valencia High School, hit .395 with nine home runs and 32 RBI … helped Vikings to 19-9 overall record and second-place finish in Foothill League at 10-5 … team captain and four-year varsity letter winner .. earned first-team All-Foothill League, first-team All-CIF-Southern Section Division I and team MVP honors … hit .410 as a junior with eight doubles, one triple, four home runs and 26 RBI with four stolen bases … helped Vikings to a 21-7 record, the Foothill League title and into the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division I playoffs … earned first-team All-Santa Clarita Valley and All-Foothill League honors, was named offensive MVP of the league and participated with the Southwest Future All-Star Team … an Area Code finalist last summer and a North/South participant … as a sophomore, earned second-team all-valley and second-team all-league honors after hitting .339 with five doubles and three home runs … UCLA, UC Irvine, Arizona, Oregon and UC Santa Barbara also recruited Mundell, who chose Cal Poly because it is "a place to truly get better and advance myself to the highest level of my game. I also get a chance to win a national championship."
