Community College -- Wells hit .278 with nine doubles, three triples, one home run and 23 RBIs at Long Beach City College in 2019, leading the Vikings to a 28-17 record, a first-place tie in the South Coast Conference's South Division and a berth in the California Community College state playoffs, where LBCC defeated Ventura in two of three regional games before falling to Orange Coast in the Super Regionals ... earned second-team All-South Coast Conference South Division honors ... played summer ball for Yakima Valley in the West Coast League, hitting .213 with 10 hits, including two doubles, and five RBIs in 15 games.
Dayton -- As a freshman at Dayton in 2018, Wells played in 27 games with eight starts and hit .212 with a pair of doubles, two RBI and two stolen bases in three attempts.
High School -- A 2017 graduate of Cerritos High School, Wells produced back-to-back .400 seasons at the plate, including a .426 mark with 10 doubles, three triples and 27 RBI en route to 2016 Area Player of the Year honors as selected by Hews Media Group .. 21 hits with runners in scoring position ... hit .416 with five home runs and 28 RBIs as a senior ... a two-time All-Area first-team selection ... named to the 2017 Long Beach Press-Telegram Dream Team as well as to the All-CIF-Southern Section Division 4 second team ... catcher and first baseman, Wells helped Cerritos under head coach Scott Parsonage to an 18-13 mark in 2017 ... member of school's Honor Roll ... played club ball for the SoCal Birds.
