A back injury could keep Kron out of the lineup when the 2016 season begins.
2015 -- Played in 17 games, including seven starts, all behind the plate, as a true freshman ... went 4-for-23 at the plate for a .174 batting average with one double and two RBI ... double was against Grand Canyon, his first collegiate hit and driving in one run ... his other RBI also was in same game with a groundout ... no multiple-hit games ... played summer ball for Alameda Merchants. hitting .478 in 19 games with three doubles, one triple and 11 RBI ... seven multiple-hit games, including a 4-for-5 performance against Humboldt ... stole nine of 13 bases.
High School – Under head coach Erick Raich at Palo Alto High School, Kron hit .338 in his senior season with 11 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 13 RBI, stealing 13 of 16 bases … helped Vikings to 16-15 record, third-place finish in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League and a berth in the CIF-Central Coast Section Open Division playoffs … earned second-team All-Santa Clara Valley Athletic League honors in the De Anza Division … hit .383 as a junior with three doubles, one triple, one home run and five RBI, stealing four of four bases … chose to further his baseball career at Cal Poly because “it’s a great school and has a great baseball program.”
