NCAA Continuing Academic Eligibility Requirements
Full-Time Status: Student-athletes must be enrolled in a minimum full-time program of studies leading toward a baccalaureate degree, defined as 12 units per quarter. For graduate students, full time status is defined as 8 units per quarter.
6 Unit Requirement: Student-athletes must pass at least six units each quarter in order to be eligible to compete during the following quarter.

- In order to be academically eligible, student-athletes must satisfactorily complete 36 units of academic credit prior to the start of the student-athlete's fourth quarter. In addition, the student-athlete must complete 27 units since the beginning of the previous fall term during the academic year (summer not included).

- At the start of the student-athletes sophomore year (Completed 3 full-time terms) = completed 36 degree applicable units

- At the start of the student-athletes junior year (Completed 6 fulltime terms)= completed 40% of their degree in their designated major (72 units for 180-unit degree program)

- At the start of a student-athlete's senior year (4th year) (Completed 9 full-time terms) = completed 60% of their degree in their designated major (108 units for 180-unit degree program)

- At the start of a student-athlete's senior year (5th year) (Completed 12 full-time terms) = completed 80% of their degree in their designated major (144 units for 180-unit degree program)

Good Academic Standing - Minimum Academic Standard |
- Students must maintain a Cal Poly GPA of 2.0 in order to be eligible to compete and remain in good academic standing

- Athletics Academic Eligibility will be certified at the beginning of fall quarter as regulated by NCAA Bylaws

- Except baseball, student-athletes who fail to achieve certification at the beginning of the fall term may be certified as the applicable deficiency is resolved per NCAA rules and institutional standards
