Join Cal Poly Athletics in celebrating the first Cal Poly Football home game of the 2023-2024 school year! All students will have returned to campus and are invited to celebrate their first week back by cheering on the Mustangs against Lincoln. This football game is also apart of the Week of Welcome (WOW) festivities for all freshman and newly transferred students to attend. For many Cal Poly students, this will be their first ever attended Cal Poly game! All Cal Poly students are encouraged to attend to meet the new students and support the Cal Poly Mustangs in their first home game of the school year. Additionally, all Cal Poly students receive entry to this game, and every Cal Poly home game, for FREE with their student ID!
Week of Welcome runs from September 15th to September 23rd and is the official start to every Cal Poly student's experience here in San Luis Obispo. All throughout WOW, students are exposed to a multitude of Cal Poly experiences including community-building activities, advising meetings, Club Showcase, SIX Cal Poly Athletics home games, and so much more! Come and celebrate Homecoming with Cal Poly Football and support them in he Battle for the Golden Horseshoe, Call Poly Football's big rivalry game against UC Davis! Over twenty years ago, both Cal Poly and UC Davis decided to establish a rivalry due to our many similarities between programs. Every year, our teams battle it out to see who will be holding onto the Golden Horseshoe trophy for the next year.
