Expected to provide relief out of the bullpen in third season at Cal Poly.
2022 -- Missed entire season after undergoing Tommy John surgery ... did not play summer ball.
2021 -- In first season at Cal Poly, pitched in 14 games, all in relief, posting a 1-0 record and 4.76 ERA with 20 strikeouts over 22 2/3 innings ... earned victory in his final appearance of the season on the mound, tossing five scoreless innings and scattering five hits with season-high six strikeouts versus Hawai'i ... also pitched 2 2/3 scoreless frames against UC San Diego and secured five outs without giving up a run or a hit at CSU Bakersfield ... did not play summer ball.
Community College -- As a sophomore at College of San Mateo in 2020, Lopiccolo helped team to 16-5 record before pandemic forced an end to the season ... in seven appearances on the mound, posted 1-1 record and 5.40 ERA with 17 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings, averaging 13.11 strikeouts per nine innings ... pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings for win versus Ohlone ... one of four team captains ... as a freshman, Lopiccolo made 23 appearances on the mound, all in relief, and compiled a 3.81 ERA with 16 strikeouts over 26 innings ... led the Bulldogs of head coach Doug Williams to a 31-14 overall record, Coast Conference Golden Gate Division title and into the state Super Regionals, finishing one win shy of a spot in the state finals ... twice earned Honor Roll status ... after visiting Nevada and Illinois-Chicago, chose to transfer to Cal Poly "because I really envisioned myself here at this school seeing myself transform into the best teammate I could be and the best version of myself; San Luis Obispo is amazing and beautiful and with how good the academics are here, I was really happy that they had my major here and was just taken away by how beautiful the campus is and respected the hard work and grind that the team puts in to become better players and better men."
High School -- Lopiccolo is a 2018 graduate of Burlingame High School, where he was a three-sport star in football, basketball and baseball and was named the school's athlete of the year three times ... in baseball, his career statistics over 80 games include a .300 batting average with 66 hits (15 doubles, four triples and one home run) with 38 RBIs, 42 runs scored and 43 steals in 50 attempts ... also a .373 on-base percentage ... in addition, was 7-4 with a 2.01 ERA on the mound with 56 strikeouts over 69 2/3 innings and four complete games ... earned All-Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division second-team accolades as a sophomore and junior center fielder and landed on the first team as a senior shortstop ... in his senior season in 2018, Lopiccolo hit .304, stole 10 of 10 bases and posted a 4-4 record and 2.44 ERA with nine starts among his 10 appearances on the mound ... lettered twice in both football and basketball as well ... as the Panthers' quarterback, Lopiccolo completed 131 of 283 passes for 2,206 yards and 16 touchdowns in two varsity seasons, throwing 13 interceptions ... also averaged 25.7 yards on 29 punts with a long of 46 yards ... also recruited by San Francisco, Nevada and Illinois-Chicago, Lopiccolo chose to be a Mustang because of its "great academics, amazing baseball coaching staff, amazing facilities and knowing I will develop into the best man, teammate and player here. Personal -- Son of Vince and Rachele Lopiccolo ... one brother, Gino ... aspires to be a sports psychologist and work with either college athletes or with professional teams ... earned a brown belt in karate at age 8 ... spent the summer of 2020 fishing and golfing with friends ... born in San Francisco ... majoring in psychology.
