
Defending Big West Champion Cal Poly Baseball Announces 2026 Schedule

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Just months after capping their historic season with an appearance in the NCAA Eugene Regional, the Cal Poly Baseball program is ready to run it back with a schedule full of challenging non-conference matchups and exciting annual Big West series.
Cal Poly, the Big West defending champion, will play 11 games against current or former Pac-12 members. The program’s non-conference slate also includes Campbell, which made six NCAA regional appearances from 2014-23, and three-time NCAA national champion Oregon State. The Mustangs will play 28 of their 55 regular season games inside Baggett Stadium.

Those are the highlights of the 2026 schedule announced by 24th-year Mustang head coach Larry Lee and Cal Poly Director of Athletics Carter Henderson on Wednesday.
The Mustangs play their opening series in Buies Creek, N.C., on Feb. 13-15 against the Fighting Camels followed by their first midweek game Feb. 17 at San Jose State.
Cal Poly will then play 16 of the next 19 contests on its home turf, featuring Washington State (Feb. 20-23) and USC (Feb. 26-March 1) in back-to-back four-game weekend series and Cal State Bakersfield and UC Davis in Big West series March 13-15 and March 21-23 respectively.
Cal Poly’s defense of its second-ever Big West title begins March 6-8 at Hawai’i. It will be the Rainbow Warriors’ final season in the Big West before moving to the Mountain West Conference on July 1, 2026. UC Davis also departs for the MWC on the same date.
The Big West will welcome California Baptist, Sacramento State and Utah Valley as full members next July while losing UC San Diego to the West Coast Conference on July 1, 2027.

This season, Cal Poly also will host UC Santa Barbara (April 2-4), CSUN (April 24-26) and Long Beach State (May 14-16) for Big West series while traveling to UC Riverside (March 27-29), UC San Diego (April 17-19), UC Irvine (May 1-3) and Cal State Fullerton (May 8-10).
During its bye week in the Big West on April 10-12, the Mustangs will travel to Corvallis to play Oregon State.
Midweek games at home include Pepperdine on March 3 and April 14, Fresno State on March 10, San Jose State on April 7 and Santa Clara on April 28. Cal Poly visits Loyola Marymount on March 25, Fresno State on March 31 and May 12, Pepperdine on April 21 and Santa Clara on May 5.
The five-team Big West Conference Championship Tournament will be hosted by UC Irvine on May 20-24.

Cal Poly posted a 43-19 record in 2025, winning four of five games for the Big West tournament championship at Cal State Fullerton and earning its fourth NCAA regional bid under Lee with a trip to Eugene. The Mustangs posted a 2-2 mark at the University of Oregon with wins over Utah Valley and Oregon and two losses to regional champ Arizona.
From the Mustangs' second-highest winning team, a total of 21 lettermen return, including six position starters and 10 pitchers, joined by four transfers and 11 newcomers.
