SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly student-athletes posted another strong year of results in the latest Academic Progress Rate data that was released Tuesday by the NCAA.
Five Mustang programs recorded perfect multi-year scores of 1,000 while nine others were above the national APR average of 984.
Overall, Cal Poly's average amongst all teams was 989, five points above the national average. Men's tennis, Softball, Beach Volleyball, Women's Golf, and Women's Volleyball all reached perfect scores of 1,000.
Men's Swimming & Diving (998), Men's Cross Country (997), Women's Swimming & Diving (997), Women's Soccer (996), Women's Track & Field (996), Women's Cross Country (992), Women's Tennis (992), Men's Track & Field (991), and Men's Golf (986) were all above the national average.
The APR was created to be more of a real-time measurement of academic success than graduation rates. It is as team-based metric in which scholarship student-athletes earn one point for each team for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. The current report contains multi-year rates based on the four years from the 2019-20 academic year through the 2022-23 academic years.
