The Night of Hoops and Horror is a great outing for families, kids, and fans of Mustang Basketball. There is no entry fee and festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. starting with a Haunted Hallway located on the second level of Mott Athletics Center for kids and students to get candy handed out by our Cal Poly student-athletes.
Following the Haunted Hallway, at 5:10 p.m. attendees will be able to take photos with the Cal Poly Cheer Team, accompanied by live performances from the Cal Poly Mustang Band.
For the kids, at 5:30 p.m., the court will open for a scarily fun shoot-around.
The main festivities will kick off at 6:00 p.m. with the introduction of your 24-25 Cal Poly Basketball teams. Then, the women's team will hold a three-point contest, followed by a slam dunk contest by the men's team.
Keeping the action alive, players will participate in a speed basket and shootout contest in front of the fans. After, both the women's and men's teams will participate in scrimmages.
Concluding the activities, the Cal Poly Cheer Team will put on a performance followed by interactive fan contests and a fan costume contest for the chance to win some amazing prizes. Fans are encouraged to wear their best costumes and to stick around and get autographs from the players at 7:15 p.m.
This event precedes the men's team's first game versus the University of San Francisco at their home on Nov. 5. Following the women's team home opener at the Motts Athletic Center versus UC Merced on Nov. 6.
