Lee Nabs Fourth Career Big West Field Player of the Week Award

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Cal Poly shortstop Brooks Lee, whose recent eight-game hitting streak included multiple hits in all eight games, has been named Big West Conference Field Player of the Week.
Lee hit seven doubles and a pair of home runs, driving in 15 runs, during the streak. He was 19-for-30 at the plate for a .633 average and the streak included a trio of three-hit games and five two-hit contests.
The streak ended Sunday in a 15-3 loss to UNLV.
In four games last week, Lee was 8-for-16 (.500) with four doubles, a home run and seven RBIs, lifting his batting average for the season to .476. The redshirt sophomore from San Luis Obispo High School also owns a .593 on-base percentage and .786 slugging percentage.
Lee leads the Big West in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS (on-base plus slugging percentages), hits, RBIs, doubles and walks.
Lee earned Big West weekly honors three times during his freshman season in 2021.
Cal Poly will play the first of eight consecutive home games Tuesday night, hosting San Jose State at 6 p.m. inside Baggett Stadium. The Mustangs also host Harvard for four games this weekend and open Big West play with a three-game home series against CSUN on March 18-20.
