Kylie Atherstone

One of the most decorated players in Cal Poly volleyball history, Kylie Atherstone was a two-time Big West Player of the Year, a 2007 AVCA Third Team All-American, 2008 AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, two-time AVCA All-Region and four-time First Team All-Big West honoree.
During Atherstone’s Cal Poly career, she helped the Mustangs win back-to-back Big West Conference titles in 2006 and 2007 as well as reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in 2007.
As an outside hitter, Atherstone was an 11-time Big West Player of the Week recipient throughout her career. She holds the program record for career service aces, ranks second in career kills, fourth for career kills per set average, and is 10th all-time in career blocks.
Following a successful college career, Atherstone went on to play professional volleyball internationally with stops in Puerto Rico, Spain, and Switzerland. She was named MVP of the league in Spain during the 2010-11 season, leading her team to the league championship.
Atherstone was a member of the United States A2 National Team in 2007 and was named National Player of the Week on Oct. 23, 2006.
A communication studies graduate, she currently is a senior manager for People Operations for Healthcare Start-Up after serving six years in human resources.
Atherstone and her husband, Matthew Kellogg, live in Rathdrum, Idaho.
