Five Cal Poly Tennis Players Earn ITA All-Academic Honors

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — A total of five Cal Poly men's and women's tennis players were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athletes and the Mustang women's team was named an ITA All-Academic Team, the organization announced.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have been a varsity letter winner, had a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the academic year, and have been enrolled for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year). The team award goes to any program that had a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale).

Individually on the women's side, three members of the team were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Sophomore Grace Olyphant (Business Administration / Los Angeles, CA), junior Susanne Boyden (Business Administration / Raleigh, NC), and junior Emily Louie-Meadors (Economics / Gainesville, FL) all earned the honor.

On the men's side, two members of the squad were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Senior Dominic Bechard (Business Administration / Perth, Australia) and sophomore Alexander Stater (Psychology / Bethesda, MD) both earned earned the honor.

This was the third straight year the women's program earned the team award.
