Burright, Krieghoff Score Two Goals Each in 5-2 Win over Hawai’i
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --- The Cal Poly Mustangs scored four second half goals in defeating Hawai'i, 5-2 in a Big West Conference match on Sunday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium. Bianca Burright two goals, her first of the season in just her second game while Elise Krieghoff added two of her own and team leading ninth and 10th goals of the season.  

With the win, the Mustangs remain undefeated in Big West play with a 5-0-1 record and 8-5-2 overall. Hawai'i falls to 6-8-2 overall and 1-4 in Big West play.

Cal Poly opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Burright scored her first goal of the season thanks to a Cici Kobinski cross. Burright fired her shot from 10 yards out to the right post, deflecting into the back of the net.

Hawai'i tied the game in the 21st minute when Krystal Pascua took a blocked shot from eight yards out and put in the left side of an open net.

In the 28th minute, Hawai'i had an opportunity to take a lead when Alex Gerrain, off a nifty pass, placed the ball into the left side of the net only to have it taken back with an offside call.

In the second half, in the 46th minute, the Mustangs opened the scoring early when Kobinski took a pass from Christina Eichinger from 35 yards out. Kobinski dribbled the ball up the left side and flicked the shot into the left side of the net for her second goal of the season.

In the 52nd minute, Hawai'i tied the game up when Alexis Colacchio lofted a ball over the goalies out stretched arms from five yards out. The shot came from an assist from Addison Carroll.

The Mustangs retook the lead in the 74th minute when Burright scored her second goal of the game when she received a quick pass from Cristina Farrington and placed it in the right side of the net.

Cal Poly took a two goal advantage in the 81st minute when Elise Krieghoff took a feed from Brurright on the right side and fired a shot from 20 yards into the middle of the net for her ninth goal of the season.

In the 88th minute Krieghoff scored her second goal of the game (10th of the season) and gave the Mustangs a three goal advantage when she took a feed from Cynthia Garcia, drawing the goalie off line, for an open net goal.

Each team had 14 shots while Cal Poly goalie, Alyssa Giannetti (8-5-2) recording six saves. Hawai'i goalie, Kanani Taaca (6-8-2), recorded three saves.
