SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Former Cal Poly golfers Taylor Yoshitake (Kay) and Caitlin Farley have qualified for the 2019 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship.
Kay (pictured on left) and Farley (pictured on right) placed in the top 10 at a qualifying tournament held Monday on the South Course at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club in Orange County.
Kay finished eighth with a 77, carding one birdie on the 502-yard par-5 sixth hole along with 11 pars and six bogeys.
Farley was ninth with a 78 as she recorded a birdie on the 333-yard par-4 second hole, 12 pars, three bogeys and two double-bogeys.
Whitney French of Monarch Beach, Calif, was medalist with a 69 for a four-stroke victory on the 6,022-yard, par-72 course.
The 2019 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship will be held Sept. 14-19 at the Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The Mid-Amateur's 132-player field is open to any female golfer who has reached her 25th birthday by Sept. 14 and whose Handicap Index does not exceed 9.4.
