Binns, Muehlbauer Named to List of WGCA All-American Scholars

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly golfers Jamie Binns and Mallory Muehlbauer have been added to the list of Women's Collegiate Golf All-American Scholars for the 2016-17 season.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association compiled the list, with a total of 952 women's collegiate golfers recognized. Criteria includes a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average.

Binns, from San Diego, Calif., completed her junior season with a 75.7 scoring average, second on the team. She posted five top-10 finishes and six rounds of par or better.

Muehlbauer, a sophomore in her first season at Cal Poly after transferring from BYU, averaged 77.0 strokes per round with three top-10 finishes and three rounds of par or better.

The pair helped Cal Poly capture its first-ever Big West Conference championship in the 17-year history of the program. The Mustangs qualified for the NCAA Albuquerque Regional.

A Scripps Ranch High School graduate, Binns majors in biological sciences with a concentration in anatomy and physiology. Muehlbauer, also from San Diego and a graduate of Mission Vista High School, is majoring in business administration.
