Mustang Minute: Women's Golf Sophomore Mallory Muehlbauer

EDITOR'S NOTE: Mustang Minute, which debuted in February and features interviews with Mustang student-athletes that run each Monday, puts the spotlight on sophomore women's golfer Mallory Muehlbauer this week.

Muehlbauer helped the Cal Poly women's golf team to its first Big West Conference championship in the 17-year history of the program. She and her four teammates are currently competing in the NCAA Albuquerque Regional at the University of New Mexico Golf Course.

A business administration major from San Diego, Calif., Muehlbauer is a graduate of Mission Vista High School in Vista and transferred to Cal Poly a year ago from Brigham Young University, where she played in two tournaments as a true freshman.

Muehlbauer has averaged 76.9 strokes over 29 rounds this season with five top-20 finishes and three rounds of par or better. Her best finish this season is a tie for sixth place in the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate at Palm Desert and she placed seventh in the Big West Conference finals two weeks ago at the Oak Quarry Golf Club in Riverside.
