Mustang Sports Performance Director Bayley Inducted Into Iona Hall of Fame

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Cal Poly women's basketball sports performance director Tim Bayley, in his fourth year assisting the Mustangs, is set to be inducted into his alma mater's Hall of Fame. Bayley, a track & field All-American at Iona who went on to a pro career sponsored by PUMA, will be enshrined in the Gaels' Hall of Fame, with the ceremony held Monday at Wykagyl Country Club.

Bayley joined the Mustangs as director of basketball operations prior to the 2015-16 season and was named director of sports performance in 2017.

Coming to the U.S. after winning the British 800-meter national title in 2005, Bayley went on to a career as a two-time NCAA First Team All-American in the 800m at Iona.

For the Gaels, Bayley won two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference 800m titles as a junior and senior (with the latter spring also seeing him claim the overall MAAC Student-Athlete of the Year award), and went on to earn All-America status both times, including a silver medal at the 2006 NCAA Championships with a career-best time of 1:46.64.

Also at Iona, Bayley earned Academic All-America accolades from both ESPN the Magazine and COSIDA in 2007. Additionally, from 2009 through 2012, Bayley represented Great Britain at the World Indoor Championships, running under four minutes for the mile four times.

At Cal Poly (where his wife Priscilla serves as head coach of the women's cross country team) Bayley oversees the Mustangs' speed, stamina and endurance regimens, monitors fitness, is responsible for massage therapy, and develops prehab & rehab training programs for student-athletes. He founded Bayley FIT, LLC in 2007.
