    Former Cal Poly standout Kristina Santiago led Dunav 8806 to a 77-49 win over Neftochimic in the fourth game of the championship series. Santiago was named MVP in leading Dunav to the championships, taking the series three games to one.

  • No. 2 Cal Poly to Face No. 4 UCSB in Semifinal, Friday

    The Mustangs enter the Big West Conference Basketball Tournament as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 4 seed UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 2:30 pm in the semifinal round. Cal Poly has defeated UCSB twice during the regular season. The Gauchos advanced to Friday’s game by defeating Cal State Northridge (45-31) in the second round. No. 1 Pacific will face No. 8 Cal State Fullerton in the other semifinal game. This is the Mustangs 13th trip to the Big West Conference Tournament since Cal Poly joined the Big West for the 1996-97 season and are 9-12 all-time in the tournament.9-12 all-time in the tournament.

Senior Kayla Griffin, junior Jonae Ervin and sophomore Ariana Elegado were named honorable mention. Griffin was also named the 2012-13 Big West Hustle award.

    The Cal Poly women’s basketball team lost, 71-58, to the visiting Long Beach State 49ers on senior day in the team’s final regular season game as LBSU shot 60 percent in the second half to overcome a five point halftime deficit. The loss, coupled with Pacific’s win over UC Davis, earns the Mustangs the second seed at next week’s Big West Conference Basketball Tournament and a bye into the semifinal round of the tournament

Koehler is the first Gatorade Montana Girls Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from Billings Senior High School.
