Allen, Rogers Break School Records at Day Three of MPSF Championships

FRIDAY'S RESULTS

LA MIRADA, Calif. — For the second day in a row, school records were broken by Cal Poly swimmers during the third day of competition at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships Friday.

Senior men's swimmer Zack Allen, who Thursday broke the school record in the 50 free, broke the program record in the 100 butterfly after a time of 46.38, finishing second in the event, just fourteen tenths of a second behind Pacific's Mason Miller. That swim broke the record that Allen set at last year's MPSF Championships.

The other school record broken Friday came from junior men's swimmer Paul Rogers. Rogers broke the record in the 200 free, finishing second with a time of 1:35.29. He broke his own record that he set back in 2017.

After three days of competition, the Cal Poly men currently sit tied for fourth with Pacific while the Mustang women are in seventh place.

Saturday marks the final day of the MPSF Championships with prelims starting at 9 a.m. and finals starting at 5 p.m.
