Allen Breaks School Record at Second Day of MPSF Championships
LA MIRADA, Calif. — Senior men's swimmer Zack Allen (pictured) broke the school record in the 50 freestyle to highlight the second day of competition for the Cal Poly swimming and diving teams at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships Thursday.

Allen finished second in the event, just behind BYU's Payton Sorenson. Allen finished with a time of 19.61 which broke the old Cal Poly record of 20.02 set by Caleb Davies back in 2016.

Junior men's swimmer Paul Rogers placed third in the 500 free. He finished with a time of 4:21.48, good for the second-fastest swim in school history.

In swimming, the Cal Poly men are currently in fourth place while the women sit in seventh.

The third day of the MPSF Championships continues Friday with prelims starting at 9 a.m. and the finals at 4:30 p.m.
